By equipping a safety diaphragm, we ensure leak-free and contamination-free pump operation that meets the highest safety standards, even in the unlikely event that the working diaphragm is damaged. The very harsh environments in chemical and pharmaceutical processes, as well as the transfer of hazardous materials, toxic substances, and expensive fluids, impose high safety standards on the systems used. Safety diaphragm pumps achieve excellent leak prevention and airtightness by adopting an additional diaphragm as an extra layer of safety.

Cataracts are a common condition that significantly impacts daily life, causing many people to struggle. However, cataract surgery can restore or greatly improve patients' vision. KNF vacuum pumps are an essential component of the medical devices used for such precise surgeries. KNF offers a diverse lineup of diaphragm pumps for cataract surgery. For debris removal, the N 813 is a strong option. It achieves a maximum vacuum of 0.5 mbar (absolute), a maximum flow rate of 13 l/min, and a maximum pressure of 0.3 bar (relative). The N 813 provides stable, reliable performance with a compact design. It can be equipped with a customizable state-of-the-art BLDC motor that enables precise flow control. Its configuration and motor allow for low-speed operation, ensuring the necessary flow rate and vacuum for cataract surgery while reducing noise and vibration.

From high-resolution inkjet printers to life-saving devices, KNF's advanced flow technology delivers smooth, turbulence-free performance in situations where precision is everything. Gentle Flow Pump – A groundbreaking product in diaphragm pump innovation KNF's Gentle Flow series employs two advanced design techniques to achieve minimal pulsation. One is a design that uses an internal damper integrated within the pump to absorb pressure fluctuations. The other is a design that connects up to five diaphragms in parallel, operating each with a phase difference to smooth the flow. Both configurations minimize vibration and noise, enabling precise flow control through a built-in brushless DC motor.

With the development of the Gentle Flow Pump, KNF has minimized the pulsation of liquid diaphragm pump systems and set a new standard for diaphragm pump technology. In this interview, Daniel Kohli, the head of product development at KNF Flodos, the liquid pump product center, provides unique insights into the development process, technology, and key benefits for customers. He also discusses KNF's first pump equipped with intelligent features, which is the latest innovation project.

Pump cavitation occurs when localized low-pressure areas form within the pump or system, leading to the formation and collapse of bubbles. This can cause erosion, vibration, and noise, potentially resulting in significant damage to the pump body, other components of the fluid system, and the transported fluid. This phenomenon affects all positive displacement pumps, including diaphragm pumps, reciprocating pumps, centrifugal pumps, and gear pumps. Cavitation can be effectively prevented by adopting optimized pump solutions that incorporate built-in pulsation dampers and taking appropriate measures to optimize the entire fluid system.
