At Makome Laboratory, we have a variety of robust sensors suitable for construction machinery. We have prepared a page with examples, so please take a look.

Guide to Linear Encoders Due to the discontinuation of the Keyence "VP-90," Makome Laboratory is proposing replacement products. As a replacement for the Keyence "VP-90," Makome Laboratory recommends the magnetic linear encoder "SI-140" system. The "SI-140" system utilizes magnetism to measure a scale that is magnetized alternately and evenly with N and S poles, in a non-contact manner. Because it uses magnetism, it can measure lengths without being affected by non-magnetic materials. The head has a protection structure rated IP67 (compliant with IEC standards). The output is in A and B phase with a resolution of 0.1mm. When using an incremental measurement device with a 4x multiplier, it can be used at 0.025mm. The detection distance between the head and the scale is 4±3mm (1 to 7mm), allowing for some variation in distance. The output circuit is a MOS FET open-drain output, which can be extended up to 5m. Additionally, there is a separate line driver output type that can be extended up to 100m. *The MOS FET open-drain is almost equivalent to an NPN transistor output. Please contact us for evaluation samples.

At Makome Laboratory, we aim to deliver the latest product information, technical explanations, and customer feedback. This channel provides various content, including how to use and maintain our products. Please subscribe to the channel and let's explore the world of Makome Laboratory together!

You can now freely choose the length of the magnetic scale, which has been highly requested. If you do not need the magnetic scale or would like to order it in a custom length, please request it with SI-140-X0. For more details, please refer to the instruction manual.

GS-500 Series We have newly added "CAN communication" specifications to our magnetic guide sensors. In addition to the constant output of straight guidance mode and left/right branching mode outputs, the parallel (15-bit) output is also continuously available, allowing for the optimal signal to be captured as needed. Furthermore, with this development, we have redesigned the case to allow for the selection of the detection surface and cable exit direction. This is expected to provide flexible support for compact and low-floor vehicle designs. The case is fully metal (IP67 structure) and has a robust design. *Concerns about parts procurement were raised, but since around August 2022, we have established a timeline for mass production shipments and have begun shipping samples. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us using the form below. Requests for meetings or evaluation samples can also be made here. Our company is a sensor manufacturer specializing in magnetic applications. 【Do you have any of these thoughts?】 - We can't send all employees to the exhibition. - We went to the exhibition, but couldn't take our time to look around. - We want to share products with all employees because they seem useful! To respond to such voices, we will hold a "Mobile Exhibition." 【Could unexpected suggestions for improvement come from other departments?】 【What is a Mobile Exhibition?】 We will hold a mini-exhibition in your company's meeting rooms, cafeterias, hallways, or other spaces. A space with one or two long tables is sufficient. The duration can be discussed, ranging from half a day to several days. It can be held during lunch breaks or after working hours (please also inquire about weekend events). If you specify the products you wish to see in advance, we will definitely display them. As a company that values sincere engagement with our customers, we have created an opportunity for you to have a relaxed conversation with us. If you have any concerns regarding sensing, please feel free to consult us. ● Please also feel free to reach out for private exhibitions hosted by trading companies. *There are no costs involved, but we ask that you provide the space and an AC 100V power supply.

A comprehensive A4 full-color 20-page "Solution Guide" featuring representative products from Makome Laboratory, known for their excellent environmental resistance, has been completed. Featured products include magnetic sensors, magnetic proximity switches, magnetic scales, potentiometers, encoders, AGV guidance sensors (guide sensors), inclinometers, and more. Please use this guide to help select sensors suitable for your operating environment. An English version is also available. *If you would like to obtain a copy, please feel free to contact us via the inquiry form or at our sales office.*

In celebration of our 50th anniversary, we have updated our company brochure.

The latest catalog for our highly acclaimed magnetic linear encoder "Mako Measure" is now available. We also offer sample loans for evaluation, so please feel free to contact us. We look forward to your inquiries and requests for materials.

We are pleased to announce the complete renewal and launch of the English version of the Makome Research Institute's website. Based on the content of the Japanese version, we have reorganized it to be clearer and more concise for our English-speaking customers. The site is also compatible with smartphones, so for customers with overseas branches, offices, or factories, we hope you will find it useful as information for your local staff. Thank you very much for your continued support.

Starting March 1st, we have renewed our company website! We have newly added "Tips for Product Selection" and "Case Studies." It has become easier to find the products you are looking for. 【Website Content (Excerpt)】 ◎ Tips for Selection ◎ - Search by Application Determine position / Find scratches / Measure straight lines / Know displacement / High repeat accuracy..... - Search by Operating Environment Conditions Underwater / Steel mills / Dust and dirt / Radiation / Oil / Extreme cold / Under the sun..... ◎ Case Studies ◎ - Mechanical multi-story parking - Convincing introduction effects with examples and data *Please take a look at our website!

The English version of the highly praised Makome Solution Guide has been completed. We have compiled a representative selection of Makome Laboratory's products, known for their excellent environmental resistance, into a single A4 full-color booklet with 20 pages titled "Solution Guide." The featured products include magnetic sensors, magnetic proximity switches, magnetic scales, potentiometers, encoders, AGV guidance sensors (guide sensors), inclinometers, and more. Please use this guide to help you select the appropriate sensors for your operating environment. *If you would like to obtain a copy, please feel free to contact us via the inquiry form or at our sales office.

At Makome Research Institute, we offer rental samples and demo products for evaluating standard products. ● Considering adoption but want to compare with existing products before purchasing. ● I'm anxious about whether it will fit our equipment since I'm using a magnetic sensor for the first time. ● I would like to evaluate it in a real environment. (If it's a harsh environment, please inform us of the usage conditions in advance.) *Please understand that there may be times when we cannot provide items immediately due to them being on loan. Additionally, some products may not be available for rental, so please contact your sales representative for more details.

We have commercialized a rotary potentiometer and encoder that apply our company's linear encoder detection technology. It detects the magnetic field of the N and S poles and outputs the rotational movement as pulses or analog signals. By using a two-pole magnet, we have achieved a detection distance (the gap between the sensor and the magnetic body) of 8mm ± 2mm. It allows for eccentricity within Φ1mm (±0.5mm). Due to the lack of mechanical connection, it is resistant to vibration and shock, making it suitable for use in rotating parts of robotic arms and construction machinery without coupling. Additionally, due to the absence of friction resistance, it can also be applied to tension control for films and paper. We have evaluation samples available, so please feel free to contact us. *Please note that due to limited quantities, there may be times when it takes longer to lend them out.

At Makome Research Institute, we would like to hold a mini-exhibition of our sensors, including products of interest to you, using space within your company. We can accommodate from approximately one long table's worth of space. The time can be half a day, a full day, or even during lunch breaks or after business hours. It is also possible during company events on weekends and holidays. Please feel free to reach out regarding exhibitions hosted by trading companies as well. *There is no cost involved, but we ask that you provide the space and a household power supply of AC 100V. We will arrange a meeting to discuss the details before the event. *This could lead to significant improvements from the perspective of other departments as well... Please feel free to contact us.
