[Case Study] Improvement of Yield and Quality in Nagano Prefecture's "Summer-Autumn Strawberry" Cultivation with Carbon Dioxide Application
Introducing a case where the introduction of the "carbon dioxide local application system" improved the yield and quality of summer and autumn strawberries in facility cultivation in Nagano Prefecture! Customer feedback is also included.
The carbon dioxide local application system "Breath" continuously monitors CO2 concentration using a sensor box installed in the greenhouse and efficiently applies the appropriate amount of CO2 locally as needed. By applying only the necessary amount to the required areas, it achieves low costs and promotes photosynthesis. Furthermore, by combining it with air, it is also possible to further reduce running costs, which can lead to improvements in yield and quality. Case study for summer-autumn strawberries (Nagano Prefecture) [Customer Feedback] As the name suggests, summer-autumn strawberry cultivation takes place during the hot summer months. Since the greenhouse is opened, we thought that CO2 application was unnecessary, but when we measured the CO2 concentration within the group using the Breath sensor, we found that the CO2 concentration was dropping during the day. Since Breath allows for local application, CO2 is less likely to be wasted, and because the temperature does not rise, I believe it is suitable for summer-autumn cultivation crops. Additionally, besides controlling CO2 concentration, it can also perform intermittent control via a timer, making cost adjustments easier, which I think is another advantage. After implementation, I believe the growth of the plants improved throughout the season. *Please feel free to contact us for more details.
