[Experimental Report] Discharge of High Viscosity Slurry | Achieving a Viscosity of 150,000 cP

How stable can the discharge of high-viscosity slurry be achieved by combining a drop lid and pressure?

This is a report on a demonstration conducted in collaboration with an ink manufacturer to explore the feasibility and specifications for discharging high-viscosity slurries, as they want to discharge high-viscosity materials quickly but find it difficult to select the right equipment. They also want to know methods for automatic discharge without human intervention. The slurry tested had a viscosity of approximately 150,000 cP, which does not easily fall even when scooped with a ladle and turned upside down. We recreated the current situation where suction creates a rat hole and stops the supply, and then we gradually tested approaches such as using a drop lid and adding pressure conditions. Remaining issues are also included.
