Cellulose mat (pulp resin composite non-woven fabric)
A lightweight and strong reduced plastic material reinforced with cellulose (pulp) fibers.
This is a non-woven fabric manufactured using the TDS (Totally Dry System) method. Because cellulose (pulp) fibers and polyolefin fibers are evenly dispersed, it becomes a cellulose resin molded body that combines rigidity and impact resistance through thermal processing. With over 50% pulp content, it is an environmentally friendly molding material aimed at reducing plastic usage and decreasing CO2 emissions derived from petroleum. It has the potential to replace fiberglass and other plant-based fibers (such as kenaf). Before processing, it is a low-density, soft mat, allowing it to be molded into three-dimensional shapes with contours. In addition to pulp, it is also possible to mix unused biomass such as tea cake and shell powder, as well as functional by-products.
basic information
Biomass 50% (pulp + synthetic fibers), etc., can be customized according to your preferences and applications. Additionally, by adjusting the thermal processing, it is possible to achieve a soft texture for the non-woven fabric or a high density and strength similar to plastic. Specifications of non-woven fabric: Composition: Pulp, synthetic fibers (PE, PP), functional fibers, powders, etc. Thickness: Approximately 10mm (before molding), approximately 0.9mm (after thermal molding: depending on molding conditions) Non-woven fabric shape: Flat sheet, width 640mm × length 400-800mm We are also considering providing molded products. There are limitations on shapes, so please consult with us. Color: Natural, white, colored (subject to consultation)

Notice of Participation in the 5th Sustainable Materials Exhibition -SASUMA- [Tokyo Exhibition] (November 12 (Wed) - 14 (Fri), 2025)
From November 12th for three days, we will jointly exhibit at the "5th Sustainable Materials Exhibition -SASUMA- [Tokyo Edition]" at Makuhari Messe, represented by Oji Holdings Corporation, Oji Management Office Corporation, and Oji F-Tex Co., Ltd. This exhibition is a specialized event focusing on sustainable materials (environmentally friendly materials) and their manufacturing and recycling technologies, held within the High-Functionality Materials Week (*). * This is the world's largest exhibition showcasing cutting-edge material technologies such as functional films, plastics, cellulose, carbon fiber composites, metals, and ceramics. The Oji Group has a history of over 150 years, during which it has nurtured abundant forest resources both domestically and internationally, continuously working towards the realization of a sustainable society through the creation of products utilizing forest resources and the recycling of used paper. At this exhibition, we will introduce a variety of products and technology developments from the Oji Group under the themes of "Sustainable Packaging," "New Materials from Wood," and "Recycling Solutions." We invite you to visit the Oji Group booth and experience our sustainable products and technologies that utilize forest resources.

Announcement of the expansion of the "Tough Cell" series of cellulose resin composite pellets.
Oji Holdings Corporation has newly developed cellulose resin composite pellets for injection molding, using wood-derived cellulose as a reinforcing fiber and featuring low VOC emissions. By carefully selecting the wood pulp used as raw material, this product can reduce the acetaldehyde generated during injection molding by up to 40%. We will showcase this developed product at our booth during the "2024 NAGOYA Automotive Technology Exhibition" held at Aichi Sky Expo from July 17 to 19. *News Release https://www.ojiholdings.co.jp/Portals/0/resources/content/files/news/2024/JP06ct11.pdf?TabModule958=0
