Pressure Relief | KUB Type Rupture Disk
Reusable rupture disk. [Exhibiting at INCHEM TOKYO 2025]
The KUB type is a long-lasting rupture disk. The KUB type is a special rupture disk that is extremely robust and high-performance, with the burst pressure defined by the Euler formula's buckling load calculation method. Unlike rupture disks manufactured by weakening part of the material, it is a product of REMBE's unique high technology that incorporates a buckling pin for precise full bore opening. Additionally, it features a smooth surface without weakened areas in the disk material, making it very robust and eliminating the risk of damage from misoperation, incorrect installation, or drops (from a height of about 1 meter). With a two-layer structure consisting of a seal membrane layer and a burst layer, the surface of the seal membrane layer that comes into contact with the process medium is smooth and free of scratches. It uses a highly sealable diaphragm, minimizing the risk of damage due to corrosion. The KUB type, with a maximum operating pressure ratio of 98%*, is designed to be strong against metal fatigue not only for high-pressure applications but also under harsh process conditions for gas, steam, liquid, and two-phase flow applications. Its unique manufacturing method allows it to be used even for liquid-only applications, greatly diversifying installation locations and simplifying installation, maintenance inspections, and procurement processes. *Varies by application.
basic information
**Benefits of Use** ◆ The unique developed technology of the buckling pin has achieved the most robust rupture disk. ◆ Easy reinstallation and reuse after inspection – guarantees the longest lifespan and allows for savings on spare parts costs. ◆ Suitability for liquid-only applications – maximizes the number of installation points within the plant by leveraging strong characteristics for liquid applications. ◆ Damage during installation, transportation, and storage is virtually nonexistent, ensuring maximum process uptime and reducing costs associated with part replacement. **Exhibition Participation** We will be exhibiting at "INCHEM TOKYO 2025." Date: September 17, 2025 (Wednesday) to September 19, 2025 (Friday) 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Venue: Tokyo Big Sight Booth Number: 6-E02 We plan to introduce explosion-proof equipment (such as explosion venting devices) and rupture disks. We sincerely look forward to your visit.

YouTube video about rupture discs for FPSO use.
A new Japanese video has been released on REMBE's YouTube channel. This video introduces the features of rupture discs for FPSOs. Pressure relief devices play a crucial role in the production stages of oil and gas. Rupture discs are widely used in many FPSO applications due to their ability to open quickly across the entire cross-section, precise and reliable burst control, and compatibility with other pressure relief products such as safety valves. REMBE specializes in designing and manufacturing customized rupture discs for special applications like FPSOs. This not only alleviates traditional concerns in the industry but also contributes to improved safety and overall operational efficiency.
