Pressure Relief | SFD Type Tension Type Rupture Disk
Contributing to reduced downtime through the use of cutting-edge CPL technology.
The SFD type (S = Sublimated; FD = Forward) is a versatile rupture disk suitable for use under various process conditions. It is manufactured using REMBE's proprietary "Contour Precision Laser Ring (CPL) technology," which eliminates common industrial concerns such as early rupture due to mechanical scoring, corrosion of the scored area, and pinholes. If unexpected issues arise, costly downtime may occur. The CPL technology extends the lifespan of the rupture disk, ensuring the highest quality and precise rupture operation control even under the most severe environmental conditions. 【Benefits of Use】 ★ Low burst pressure design – Excellent protection for safety valves ★ Suitable for gas, two-phase flow, and viscous media, maximizing the number of installation locations ★ Capable of accommodating a wide range of process conditions – Using the same type of rupture disk leads to significant benefits in installation, procurement, and maintenance inspections ★ The manufacturing method using precision laser technology reduces downtime caused by early rupture due to mechanical scoring, corrosion of the scored area, and pinholes.
basic information
Improved rupture disk for safety valve protection – it bursts at a low height. The SFD type features a design that prevents fragment scattering and has a low burst height, allowing for space-saving without affecting the performance of the safety valve due to the rupture disk opening. Utilizing CPL technology, precise sublimation processing is performed on the outer circumference without affecting the crystalline structure of the material, ensuring an accurate full bore opening at the time of rupture. The full bore opening enabled by CPL technology maximizes the release of process media after the rupture disk bursts. Thanks to CPL technology, the surface in contact with the process is smooth, eliminating the need for linings that may be unsuitable for certain media. The smooth process surface prevents the accumulation of deposits, providing long-term reliability even with highly active process media adapted for polymerization processes. The SFD type is suitable for various process conditions, offering high cost-effectiveness and performance. It is ideal for processes under harsh conditions in industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food.

YouTube video about rupture discs for FPSO use.
A new Japanese video has been released on REMBE's YouTube channel. This video introduces the features of rupture discs for FPSOs. Pressure relief devices play a crucial role in the production stages of oil and gas. Rupture discs are widely used in many FPSO applications due to their ability to open quickly across the entire cross-section, precise and reliable burst control, and compatibility with other pressure relief products such as safety valves. REMBE specializes in designing and manufacturing customized rupture discs for special applications like FPSOs. This not only alleviates traditional concerns in the industry but also contributes to improved safety and overall operational efficiency.
