This is a representative rupture disk developed several decades ago. Even today, this tension-type rupture disk is widely used in simple applications that handle medium to high pressure, such as pumps in the hydraulic, chemical, and petrochemical industries. The standard operating pressure ratio is 70%* of the minimum burst pressure. The burst pressure is determined by the thickness of the material and its tensile strength.
