kSep Centrifugal Separation System

Scalable single-use automated centrifugation system

The kSep system is a fully automated single-use centrifugation system that continuously concentrates, washes, and recovers supernatant or solids (cell particles). It is ideal for cell separation from fed-batch culture, high-density culture, and concentrated culture, maintaining a high cell survival rate with minimized shear stress, addressing the challenges of traditional centrifugation and filtration-based technologies.

basic information

The kSep system is a single-use system in a completely closed configuration, featuring a bowl-shaped centrifuge that does not stop rotating during discharge. It reduces contamination in downstream processes and guarantees high-quality products. With a recovery rate exceeding 97% and low shear forces, it collects pure cells. The principle of the kSep system involves maintaining a balance between centrifugal force and fluid dynamics, continuously flowing media or buffers while retaining and concentrating particles such as cells and microcarriers in a conical single-use chamber. The system can be operated under aseptic conditions, and all consumables are gamma-sterilized.
