"Carbon Neutral Aluminum Melting Holding Furnace Developed by Shoei Manufacturing Co., Ltd." Published in "Steel News, October 23, 2023, Page 5." Shoei Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hirano Ward, Osaka City, Representative: Shota Habaki), a specialized manufacturer of industrial gas burners and industrial furnaces, has developed an aluminum melting holding furnace that enables decarbonization in aluminum casting sites, such as those for automotive parts. A new hydrogen gas burner that emits no CO2 during combustion has been adopted for the melting line. By placing high-efficiency immersion heaters in the holding line for the molten aluminum melted by hydrogen combustion, a thermal source configuration that enables carbon neutrality through "hydrogen × green electricity" has been achieved. A test furnace based on actual equipment has been newly established at the Thermal Technology Research Institute. We are accepting visits to observe hydrogen combustion and tests for actual aluminum melting. Amid uncertainties regarding future energy supply, we will contribute to the decarbonization of the manufacturing industry by applying the combustion technology and hybridization technology for thermal sources that we have cultivated so far.

The furnace structure suppresses oxidation. - Melting capacity: 150 kg/h - Holding capacity: 800 kg/ch - Melting burner (116 kW), holding heater (9 kW x 2) ◇ QCO Coating Equipment (Coating Booth and Drying Furnace) Testing is possible with four heat sources, accommodating various works. - Gas infrared burner - Gas far-infrared panel - Gas hot air & jet heating - Electric infrared heater ◇ High-Temperature Test Furnace Combustion testing of gas burners using hydrogen and 13A/LPG is possible.
