"Achieving Zero Incineration of Organic Waste" Circular Economy News (Issue No. 1450)
An article about Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto, which has introduced our food waste processor SINKPIA (GJ-100), was published in the Circular Economy Newspaper (Issue No. 1450). Kyoto City has been working on waste composition surveys since 1980, and in March 2015, it established the "New Kyoto City Waste Reduction Plan," setting food loss reduction targets ahead of the national standard. The city has also developed various certification systems related to waste generation suppression and has become a leading city in waste reduction, actively promoting initiatives in collaboration with businesses and citizens. Additionally, this initiative has been simultaneously certified and awarded as a "2R Special Excellent Business" and "2R and Excellent Business for Sorting and Recycling Activities" by Kyoto City.

Heisei 30 Fiscal Year Excellent Waste Management Administrator Award for Large-Scale Business Buildings [Chiyoda Ward]
In the fiscal year 2018, the Excellent Waste Management Administrator Award for Large-Scale Business Buildings was presented to Mizuno Corporation's Tokyo Headquarters Building in Chiyoda Ward. The award recognized the company's practice of using a commercial food waste processor, Sink Pia, to process cooking scraps and leftover food from the employee cafeteria. This method breaks down waste into moisture and carbon dioxide, resulting in minimal residue and a significant reduction in waste output. The amount of kitchen waste, which was approximately 30 kg per day, has been nearly reduced to zero, leading to a monthly reduction of about 600 kg and an annual reduction of over 7,200 kg of kitchen waste. Mizuno Corporation has also implemented the GJ-50 at its Osaka headquarters. We will continue to provide support through regular maintenance to contribute to food waste reduction. Congratulations on receiving the Excellent Award!
