We would like to introduce a case study of a rotational and orbital vacuum mixer that has been implemented by a company supplying white LED elements for backlights to LCD equipment manufacturers. The LED elements were mixed with low-viscosity silicone resin used as a sealing material and phosphor, and then the bubbles contained in the liquid were degassed in a vacuum chamber. However, the use of larger particle size phosphors led to sedimentation and separation, which affected the quality. Therefore, the "Awatori Neritaro ARV-310LED (vacuum type)" was introduced. Previously, mixing took about 5 hours, but with this product, the time was significantly reduced to just 3 to 4 minutes, and there was no sedimentation of the phosphor, confirming a uniform dispersion.
