Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for Chromatography Analysis
The networking of Chromatography Data Systems (CDS) is progressing, and recently there has been an active shift from on-premises to off-premises solutions, including cloud-based infrastructures. On the other hand, the damage caused by natural disasters and human-made disasters such as cyberattacks is becoming increasingly severe and frequent, necessitating countermeasures. BC LAC/E will address these needs as a new lineup of LAC/E32 within the Empower 3 network system. In cases where communication between the lab and the Empower 3 database server is interrupted for an extended period, BC LAC/E can be switched to a standalone system of Empower 3, allowing for the immediate recovery of chromatography analysis operations even after a disaster. The data necessary for analysis (various methods, user information, etc.) is always synchronized within BC LAC/E, ensuring smooth recovery even in unexpected situations.

By introducing the BC (Business Continuity) LAC/E to the Empower 3 network system's LAC/E32, it becomes possible to use the Empower 3 as a standalone system by switching the BC LAC/E to business continuity mode in the event that communication with the Empower 3 database server is interrupted for an extended period. Analyses conducted in business continuity mode can maintain complete traceability and operability. The BC LAC/E is equipped with the SecureSync feature, which automatically synchronizes various methods and user information necessary for analysis operations to the BC LAC/E. This ensures that even in the event of an unexpected emergency, analysis operations can be restored quickly and reliably.
