■Fluororesin and Teflon Resin Fluororesin is a general term for plastic materials that contain fluorine atoms and comes in many varieties. Each type has different characteristics due to variations in molecular structure and other factors. On the other hand, Teflon resin was discovered by Dr. Plunkett of DuPont, and its development led to the release of Teflon PTFE. Today, some fluororesins sold by Chemours under their trademark are referred to as "Teflon resin" or "Teflon fluororesin." Teflon resin includes types such as PTFE, FEP, and PFA. Other types of fluororesins include ETFE, ECTFE, PCTFE, PVDF, PVF, and TFE/PDD. A common example of fluororesin is the well-known Teflon-coated frying pan. ■What is Fluororesin Coating? Fluororesin coating is a surface treatment that imparts various properties of fluororesin (such as non-stickiness, release properties, water repellency, excellent slip and lubrication, chemical resistance, and high heat resistance) to the surface of materials.
