The company's first computer-on-module based on the latest COM Express 3.0 Type 7 pinout specification from the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG) has been announced. This positions ADLINK as a leader in the development race to introduce server-class performance and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) capabilities into the COM form factor. ADLINK's Express-BD7 targets customers building industrial automation and data communication systems in limited spaces for numerous applications such as virtualization and edge computing, which require a balanced, high-density CPU core while keeping power consumption appropriately low.
