The fuel pump bearings continuously rotate while always being immersed in gasoline. Particularly with fuels containing impurities such as sulfur, the challenges in material selection that affect long-term durability are whether "the bearing performance will not degrade due to corrosion" and "whether wear can be minimized even in harsh sliding environments." DIA-MET's B095 is a corrosion-resistant sintered bearing made of a Cu-Ni-P-C alloy, designed for use in sulfur-containing gasoline.
