ISTA 1B Non-Simulation
[Transport Test] A series of packaging tests will be conducted in accordance with the test sequence specified in ISTA 1B.
Overview of the ISTA 1B Test: - It applies to individually packaged products weighing over 150 lb (68 kg). The ISTA 1B test is not a packaging test that simulates the transportation environment. Users can utilize the ISTA 1B test as a consistent screening test. - The test items consist of Preconditioning, Fixed Displacement Vibration, and Impact Testing. - In Preconditioning, the test samples are left in the test room environment for 12 hours before testing. - In Fixed Displacement Vibration, the frequency at which the cargo bounces is explored, and this frequency is applied to the test time calculation formula to determine the vibration duration. - In the Impact Test, cargo that can fall from the top surface is dropped from a height on all six sides. For cargo where top surface dropping is not realistic, an inclined impact test or horizontal impact test is conducted, followed by a corner drop test. - In the inclined and horizontal impact tests, impacts are applied to the cargo from four directions. After all tests are conducted consecutively, the box is opened to check for damage. - The pass/fail judgment after testing is defined in a clear and quantitative manner from two perspectives: product damage and external appearance damage of the box, with inspection items and standards clearly outlined.
basic information
【ISTA 1B】【Test Sequence】 1. Vibration Test (Fixed Displacement Vibration Test) 2. Drop Test 3. Half-Support Drop Test ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) is one of the international standards widely adopted around the world for the evaluation testing standards of packaged goods, similar to ISO and ASTM. In recent years, its presence has particularly increased in Southeast Asia and China, and more companies are adopting ISTA testing standards as their internal standards. Additionally, the international standard for sterilization packaging in medical devices, ISO11607 (JIS T8041), recommends ISTA testing as one of the options for packaging performance evaluation. Our testing lab was accredited by ISTA in December 2010 and conducts packaging tests tailored to customer needs in accordance with the testing methods specified by ISTA. ▼ For more details, please download the PDF document (recommended). ▼ For urgent inquiries, please contact us using the 'Contact Us' section below.
