ISTA 1D Non-Simulation
[Transport Test] We will conduct a series of packaging tests in accordance with the test sequence specified in ISTA 1D.
Overview of the ISTA 1D Test: - It applies to individually packaged products weighing over 150 lb (68 kg). (Extended test of ISTA 1B) - The ISTA 1D test is not a simulation of the transportation environment. The test items consist of compression tests, vibration tests, and impact tests (drop or tilt or horizontal). - In the compression test, the compression load value is determined using the load calculation formula according to ISTA standards. There are two methods for compression: "Apply and Release (AR)" and "Apply and Hold (AH)." - In the vibration test, either random vibration or fixed displacement vibration can be selected. - In the impact test, for cargo that can be dropped from the top, it is always dropped from a height of 150 mm regardless of the weight of the cargo. For cargo where top dropping is not realistic, inclined impact or horizontal impact is conducted, followed by edge drop. In the inclined and horizontal impact tests, an impact of 1.7 m per second is applied to the cargo from four directions. - After conducting the compression test, vibration test, and impact test consecutively, the box is opened to check for damage. (In the case of ISTA certified tests, the box cannot be opened for inspection during the test.)
basic information
【Test Sequence】 1. Compression Test 2. Vibration Test (Fixed Displacement Vibration Test or Random Vibration Test) 3. Drop Test 4. Corner Drop Test 【ISTA 1D】 ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) is one of the international standards widely adopted around the world for the evaluation testing standards of packaged goods, similar to ISO and ASTM. In recent years, its presence has particularly increased in Southeast Asia and China, with more companies adopting ISTA testing standards as their internal standards. Additionally, the international standard for sterilization packaging in medical devices, ISO11607 (JIS T8041), recommends ISTA testing as one of the options for performance evaluation of packaging. Our testing lab was accredited by ISTA in December 2010 and conducts packaging tests tailored to customer requirements in accordance with the testing methods specified by ISTA. ▼ For more details, please download the PDF document (recommended). ▼ Customers in a hurry, please contact us via the 'Inquiry' section below.
