ISO 4180 Evaluation Test Method General Principles
We will conduct a series of packaging tests in accordance with the test sequence specified in ISO 4180 (General Methods for Evaluation Testing).
The international standard equivalent to JIS Z 0200 "Packaging of Goods - General Test Methods" which serves as the standard for transportation packaging in our country is ISO 4180, and it is one of the widely adopted transportation testing standards around the world, similar to ASTM and ISTA standards. The testing content and conditions of this standard were significantly revised for the first time in approximately 10 years since 2009, and it was published as the 2019 edition. ▼ For more details, please download the PDF document (recommended). ▼ Customers in a hurry, please contact us using the 'Contact Us' section below.
basic information
Users who understand their own transportation environment (the hazards anticipated at each stage of logistics) can construct testing procedures by selecting from the hazards during transportation and the corresponding test items listed in "Table 3" of this standard, following the examples of logistics processes. (Please refer to the standard document for the logistics process examples in Table 3 and the corresponding test methods for each process.) Users who do not have a clear understanding of their transportation environment can use the testing procedures described in "Table 4" of this standard. (For example, in Schedule A, the sequence is "Pre-treatment → Compression Test → Random Vibration Test → Free Fall Test." The test levels need to be determined individually. In the case of Schedule B, the sequence can be "Random Vibration Test → Free Fall Test," and the compression test can be conducted on a separate sample.)
