Drop impact test
Please leave the drop impact testing of packaged and wrapped cargo to JBL. The test bench size is one of the largest in the country at 1.2m x 1.2m.
We evaluate the extent to which packaged goods can withstand drop impacts that occur during transportation. In this contracted testing service, we reproduce drop impacts caused by handling during transportation using an impact testing machine. ▼ For more details, please download the PDF document (recommended). ▼ Customers in a hurry, please contact us via the 'Contact Us' section below.
basic information
The shock testing machine owned by JBL has one of the largest test table sizes in Japan, measuring 1.2m x 1.2m. It can accommodate large cargo weighing up to 400kg. The shock waveforms can be selected from two types: half sine and trapezoidal wave. For measuring acceleration waveforms, it is equipped with a dedicated waveform recording device. The values of peak acceleration, duration of action, and velocity change, which are instantaneously read from the shock waveform, can be immediately confirmed on the PC screen along with the waveform. While it is more common to use a drop testing machine for drop impacts on packaged cargo, there is also a method using a shock testing machine. JIS Z 0202: Packaging cargo - Drop test method (Method B) *Method A describes the testing method using a drop testing machine. The drop impact using a shock testing machine is suitable for cases such as: - When you want to accurately evaluate the impact resistance of packaged cargo. - When the test item is too heavy to be lifted manually. ◆ JBL Packaging Testing Laboratory: ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) certified since December 2010.
