basic information

JIS Z 0119: Test Methods for Product Impact Strength for Packaging and Product Design When conducting cushioning design, accurately knowing the impact strength of the target product seems obvious, yet it is quite difficult. In the Damage Boundary Test, the impact strength of the product is considered in terms of two parameters: "limit velocity change" and "limit acceleration." Based on this, an impact of a sinusoidal half-wave is applied to the product to determine the "limit velocity change," and then a trapezoidal wave impact is applied to derive the "limit acceleration." Cushioning calculations in packaging design start by determining the thickness of the cushioning material from the "drop height" that occurs during the distribution process and the product's "limit acceleration." By conducting the Damage Boundary Test, the value of the latter "limit acceleration" can be determined. Additionally, customers interested in accurately knowing from what height their products fall during the distribution process are encouraged to refer to the following product page.  Please refer to the transportation environment data measurement service. ◆ JBL Packaging Testing Laboratory: ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) certified since December 2010.
