  • Basic Knowledge of CFRP (Reference Material)(4)

I have compiled basic knowledge about CFRP into a document.

  • Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) molded products(9)

Carbon fiber composite materials, also known as CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics), are composites made by solidifying carbon fibers with resin (mainly epoxy resin). They are used in a wide range of applications from sports to industrial uses, as well as in aircraft and automobiles, due to their lightweight and strong, rigid properties. By selecting the appropriate resin, it is possible to impart heat resistance, impact resistance, flame retardancy, and other characteristics, allowing for "lightweight components" and "flexible strength and rigidity design," which provide excellent properties not found in traditional metals or ceramics.

  • High-Temperature Resistant Carbon Fiber Composite Molding Products (Phenolic CFRP)(4)

This is CFRP that uses "phenolic resin," which has high heat resistance, as the matrix resin.

  • Ultra-high temperature resistant carbon fiber composite molded products (C/C, C/SiC)(3)

This is a carbon fiber composite material that uses high-temperature processing substances such as "carbon" and "SiC" instead of "resin" in the matrix, improving heat resistance.

  • Carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite molded products (CFRTP)

Carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite molded products (CFRTP)(1)

CFRTP refers to a fiber-reinforced plastic that uses carbon fiber (CF) as a reinforcing agent and employs thermoplastic resin instead of thermosetting resin as the matrix resin.

  • Carbon fiber composite materials (FMC)(2)

Carbon Fiber FMC (CF-SMC) is a sheet-like intermediate material that impregnates cut high-strength carbon fibers with thermosetting resin. It is a material that can be press-formed, significantly reducing molding time compared to conventional autoclave molding or oven molding. Additionally, by randomly arranging short fibers, it ensures fluidity compared to intermediate materials made with long fibers, allowing for the molding of complex-shaped parts such as ribs and bosses.
