Case study of a blow disk adopted as a countermeasure for wet powder clogging from a centrifuge.
We introduce an example of a Brody disk that solved the clogging of dewatered cake in a vertical chute connecting a decanter-type continuous centrifuge and a subsequent dryer. The Brody disk is primarily used to address blockages and bridge rat hole phenomena in powdery materials (dry), but there are cases where it has completely resolved user issues by being used with wet powder (cake) as in this instance.
