The mobile phase heater is used to heat the mobile phase in semi-preparative or preparative HPLC. There are many advantages to operating at high column temperatures. It has been shown that operating at high temperatures can reduce the viscosity of the mobile phase, thereby increasing column efficiency. Additionally, controlling the column temperature improves the reproducibility of retention times for individual sample components. Achieving higher column efficiency and maintaining retention time stability leads to higher yields in preparative HPLC systems. The temperature control controller is separated from the heat block, which reduces troubleshooting. The control unit displays the measured values and set values, and can control the temperature inside the coil to within ±0.1°C of the set value. If the temperature exceeds the rating of the fuse, the control unit cuts off power to the heater, protecting the laboratory and column from excessive temperatures.
