Free participation Online seminar on 10/27 (Wed) "Response to Regulatory Guidelines for Extractables and Leachables (E&L) and Analytical Solutions"
Thermo Fisher Scientific will hold an online seminar focused on Extractables & Leachables (E&L). In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for single-use products in the process development and manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and vaccines. Understanding E&L from single-use bags when using these products is crucial for improving the quality of pharmaceuticals and vaccines, and it is also necessary to comprehend regulatory guidelines. This online seminar will deepen your understanding of regulatory guidelines related to E&L and teach you the key points of E&L testing based on the E&L data provided by suppliers regarding single-use products. Additionally, our specialists will introduce actual analytical methods for E&L and case studies from actual customers based on measurement data related to single-use bags. This online seminar requires prior registration (free of charge). All presentations will be conducted in Japanese. Date and Time: October 27, 2021 (Wednesday) 14:00 - 15:00 Format: Online Language: Japanese

Food Analysis Webinar Series [Part 2]
The second installment of the Food Analysis WEB Seminar Series focuses on food analysis using GC/MS, which is utilized not only for ensuring safety but also for odor research and comparisons with other products. Food analysis often requires addressing challenges that are difficult to analyze with conventional equipment, such as screening target components from complex matrices and comprehensive analysis for sample characteristic analysis. In this presentation, we will introduce the features of the GC-Orbitrap system, appropriate analytical methods, and case studies of food analysis tailored to customer needs to solve these challenges. This seminar series will showcase various applications in the food sector using different chromatography techniques (LC, LC/MS, GC/MS, IC/MS) for a wide range of analytical purposes. It will be particularly useful for those who feel restricted by existing methods or are aiming to improve operational efficiency, so we encourage you to tune in.

Food Analysis Webinar Series [Part 3]
The third installment of the Food Analysis Webinar Series will feature a presentation by Mr. Noriyuki Tachibana from the Japan Food Inspection Foundation on "Simultaneous Analysis Method for Highly Polar Pesticides Using IC-HRMS." Many of the residue analysis methods for highly polar pesticides in our country were developed quite some time ago, often using environmentally harmful organic solvents or involving complicated pre-treatments such as derivatization and solid-phase extraction, requiring the use of different measurement instruments depending on the analysis items. To move away from such resource-intensive residue analysis, we will introduce a simultaneous analysis method for highly polar pesticides using the developed Ion Chromatography High-Resolution Mass Spectrometer (IC-HRMS). Don’t miss this valuable opportunity! In this seminar series, we will present application examples in the food sector using various chromatography techniques (LC, LC/MS, GC/MS, IC/MS) for a wide range of analytical purposes. This content will be particularly useful for those who feel limited by existing methods or are aiming to improve operational efficiency, so please be sure to watch.

[E-learning Information] Introduction to GC-MS systems used for the analysis of phthalate esters and brominated flame retardants in the RoHS directive and business efficiency improvements.
The RoHS Directive is a European law concerning the regulation of chemical substances in electrical and electronic equipment. It specifies a wide range of substances, from inorganic to organic materials, as regulated items and establishes respective threshold values for each. When domestic companies export products related to electrical and electronic equipment to Europe and other regions, they must demonstrate that the content of all these items is below the threshold values. This e-learning will provide an overview of GC/MS analysis related to phthalate esters in accordance with the RoHS Directive, as well as solutions for improving operational efficiency using the Thermo Scientific Chromeleon 7 chromatography data system. Additionally, the latest information on effective verification methods for the additive TOTM, which affects the false positive results for DEHP, will also be introduced.
