High-performance columns for HPLC, UHPLC, and UPLC [CORTECS]
Improve productivity! A lineup of columns that maximizes lab performance.
This is the latest high-performance LC column family that maximizes the performance of laboratory LC systems. With high column efficiency, it achieves superior throughput and high separation compared to fully porous particle columns. It offers 1.6μm for UPLC, which realizes the ultimate theoretical plate count, and 2.7μm for HPLC/UHPLC, which is practical with low back pressure, allowing you to choose the optimal column for each analysis from a total of seven types of chemistry. Whether you want to separate complex samples or maintain separation while improving throughput, it delivers results beyond expectations. 【Features】 - Adoption of solid-core (core-shell) particles to maximize column efficiency - Particle size of 1.6μm for UPLC separation and 2.7μm for UHPLC/HPLC separation - A chemistry lineup that broadens selectivity for method development - Seven types of chemistry lineup: C18, C18+, T3, C8, Shield RP18, Phenyl, HILIC - Easy and seamless transfer of methods between 1.6μm and 2.7μm - Excellent reproducibility between batches and columns through comprehensive management of the entire manufacturing process from particle synthesis to final product
basic information
Chemistry C18: General-purpose high-efficiency reverse phase column. Balanced retention of acidic, basic, and neutral compounds. C18+: General-purpose high-efficiency reverse phase column. Achieves excellent peak shape for basic compounds under low pH conditions due to surface positive charge. T3: General-purpose high-efficiency reverse phase column. Usable with 100% aqueous mobile phase, improving retention of polar compounds. C8: General-purpose high-efficiency reverse phase column. Similar selectivity and slightly weaker retention compared to C18. Shield RP18: High-efficiency reverse phase column for method development. Provides different selectivity particularly for phenolic compounds. Phenyl: High-efficiency reverse phase column for method development. Provides different selectivity particularly for polycyclic aromatics. HILIC: General-purpose high-efficiency HILIC column. Offers complementary selectivity compared to reverse phase columns. CORTECS 1.6μm - Improved separation performance with equivalent back pressure. - Increased throughput. - Achieves maximum peak capacity when combined with ACQUITY UPLC system. CORTECS 2.7μm - Enhanced separation using longer columns. - Maximizes performance by effectively utilizing existing HPLC/UHPLC systems. - Improved throughput with fast flow rates or shorter columns.

Key Points for Method Development Using UPLC and Transfer to HPLC - Live Webinar on August 21
Twenty years have passed since Waters launched the world's first ultra-high-performance liquid chromatograph (UPLC), and with the inclusion of <2.00> General Principles of Chromatography in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia, more people are becoming interested in speeding up LC analytical methods. On the other hand, we hear voices saying, "I understand the benefits, but it's difficult to adopt it for quality control methods in the current situation," and "I don't know what other applications there are besides adopting it for quality control methods." In this webinar, we will focus on the development of analytical methods among the various applications of high-speed and high-resolution analysis, explaining the transfer of analytical methods from UPLC to HPLC, points for column selection, and the differences between HPLC and UPLC systems.

[On-Demand Webinar] Pharmaceutical Analysis User Presentation 1: Kaigen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. "Development of Testing Methods Using the Analytical Method and Method Development Software Fusion"
In this seminar, we will introduce case studies of analytical method development using QbD software: Fusion, and present solutions that are helpful for developing robust analytical methods. ◆ Development of testing methods using the analytical method and method development software Fusion Dr. Taiki Kamiya, Kaken Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The analysis department of the CMC Center, to which the speaker belongs, has been developing testing methods using HPLC and introduced Fusion four years ago to improve operational efficiency. This time, we will explain the introduction environment, background, and overview of Fusion, and introduce the operational methods used in the department. Additionally, we will share impressions of using Fusion (advantages and challenges) as well as examples of testing method development (successes and failures). ◆ Waters Analytical Development Solutions, Waters Japan We will introduce mass spectrometers that can be used in conjunction with QbD software, LC systems that enable smooth development and transfer of analytical methods, and the quality of analytical columns, which is crucial for conducting robust analyses over the long term.
