■Fluoropolymer and Teflon Resin Fluoropolymer is a general term for plastic materials that contain fluorine atoms, and there are many types. Each type has different characteristics due to variations in molecular structure and other factors. On the other hand, Teflon resin was discovered by Dr. Roy Plunkett of DuPont, and its development progressed, leading to the release of Teflon PTFE. Nowadays, some fluoropolymers sold by Chemours under its trademark are referred to as "Teflon resin" or "Teflon fluoropolymer." There are various types of Teflon resin, including PTFE, FEP, and PFA. Other types of fluoropolymers include ETFE, ECTFE, PCTFE, PVDF, PVF, and TFE/PDD.
