■Fluororesin and Teflon Resin Fluororesin is a general term for plastic materials that contain fluorine atoms and comes in many varieties. Each type has different characteristics due to differences in molecular structure and other factors. On the other hand, Teflon resin was discovered by Dr. Plunkett of DuPont, and after further development, Teflon PTFE was released. Nowadays, some fluororesins sold by Chemours under their trademark are referred to as "Teflon resin" or "Teflon fluororesin." Teflon resin includes types such as PTFE, FEP, and PFA. Other types of fluororesins include ETFE, ECTFE, PCTFE, PVDF, PVF, and TFE/PDD.
