It was developed as an in-process gauge to meet the flexibility and precision requirements in applications for this type of grinding machine.
The latest grinding technology includes a method that allows all grinding processes to be performed while the crankshaft is held in a center chuck. In traditional grinding processes, specific machines were used for different parts such as journals, pins, rear or flange diameters, and thrust surfaces. However, recent high-precision CNC control systems have begun to process all machining of the crankshaft in a sequential cycle.
