Experimental Grinding Mill "Retch Mixer Mill MM 400"
An evolved all-rounder for fine/low-quantity grinding.
The Mixer Mill MM400 is a highly versatile ball mill that has undergone a model change after 15 years since its predecessor's introduction. It can grind small samples of up to 20ml using dry, wet, or freeze grinding methods. It mixes and homogenizes samples and suspensions within seconds at a frequency of 30Hz, allowing for rapid grinding. This compact tabletop model is suitable not only for conventional homogenizer processing but also for cell disruption for DNA/RNA and protein extraction. It allows for a long grinding time of up to 99 hours, making it widely applicable for research purposes such as mechanochemistry.
basic information
Main New Features ■ Grinding time setting of up to 99 hours (previously a maximum of 99 minutes) ■ Easy operation with a touch display ■ Calibration capability ensures reproducible results (calibration of time and frequency) ■ New transparent PMMA grinding jar allows for in-situ spectroscopic experimental methods ■ Reduced noise levels during equipment operation ■ Ability to register 12 SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and 8 programmed grinding cycles ■ Front cover features a damper for smooth opening and closing operation

Varda Scientific covers a wide range of products, from sample grinding, crushing, homogenization, and heat treatment for laboratory use, to particle size measurement, component analysis, cutting, polishing, embedding, and hardness testing. Varda Scientific has five brands: Leco, QATM, Carbolite Gero, Eltra, and MRB. Since 1999, we have been operating as Leco Corporation, handling products from Leco and Leco Technology. On January 1, 2014, we began handling Carbolite Gero, and at the same time, in line with the increase in the number of brands we handle, we changed our company name to Varda Scientific Corporation. In 2018, we started handling ATM and Qness, and in June 2019, MICROTRAC and Microtrac Bell joined the Varda Scientific Group. As of May 1, 2020, ATM and Qness merged to become QATM, further enhancing our capabilities and allowing us to better meet our customers' needs.
