This device visualizes the invisible "smells" using a sensor transducer with a crystal oscillator, enabling objective evaluation of various odors. We will measure the odor using the AromaBit tabletop odor measurement device. Since the measurement conditions vary depending on the sample, we will provide an explanation after your inquiry. Notice regarding the development of self-supporting, sliding, and long-length printed wiring cables (FPC) by TAIYO.
We are pleased to announce that we have developed a long-length printed wiring cable with excellent self-supporting and sliding resistance in our main business, the electronic substrate business. Wiring cables used in movable parts of residential and industrial equipment include those covered with non-woven fabric, such as steel belts and flat cables, as well as FPCs (flexible printed circuit boards) that are three-dimensionally formed into a convex shape. The former faces challenges due to sagging and drooping caused by weight, which can lead to contact with movable parts, while the latter has cost issues due to the need for specialized molds for three-dimensional shaping. The "Self-Supporting, Sliding, Long-Length Printed Wiring Cable" we have developed maintains the thinness and lightness inherent in FPCs while being able to stand independently without sagging or drooping during bending or sliding, even at longer lengths, and it does not require mold costs. Additionally, it possesses sliding resistance and flame retardancy, making it suitable for use in movable parts of residential and industrial equipment. We will continue to advance the market deployment of this developed product and expand the applications of FPCs beyond electronic circuits.

Our company is working on the development of build-up substrates using polyimide for the insulating layer, aimed at miniaturizing, thinning, and lightening multilayer substrates in our core electronic substrate business. We are pleased to announce that we have established the core filled via technology. In electronic devices that are becoming lighter, more compact, and high-functioning, substrates (build-up substrates) capable of high-density wiring and high-density mounting are in demand. However, typically, the core layer of build-up substrates uses rigid boards, which increases the thickness of the substrate and hinders the lightweight and compact design of electronic devices. The filled via technology we have established involves filling holes (vias) made by laser in flexible printed circuit boards (FPC) with an insulating layer of polyimide with copper, and flattening the surface of the filled areas. By using this FPC as the core layer or outer layer of build-up substrates, it becomes possible to achieve both high-density wiring and high-density mounting along with thinning. We plan to start providing build-up substrates using this technology within the fiscal year 2022, and furthermore, by applying this technology to our strength in high-frequency compatible FPCs, we will respond to the demand for miniaturization of communication devices.
