[Report] Milk Solution Week (Morioka Venue)
Recently, we held a seminar, an open house (sample measurement), and a technical training session for users as part of Milk Solution Week in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. In the seminar, we introduced a wide range of topics, including not only the MilkoScan but also the automation of somatic cell count/bacterial count analysis and sterile sampling. During the open house, participants had the opportunity to experience measuring their own samples using the new MilkoScan FT3, and to confirm the operation of somatic cell count/bacterial count analysis using the BacSomatic. Although the parts manufacturing for the FT1 will conclude in three years, we conducted a technical training session for this still-active model. Thank you to everyone who participated. Happy New Year! Thank you very much for your support during the past year. We look forward to your continued support this year as well. Last year marked the 50th anniversary of our founding, and we have now embarked on the next 50 years. At our headquarters in Denmark, we have primarily provided solutions originating from Europe and the United States to our customers in Japan. In the next step, we aim to focus on food unique to Japan or Asia and contribute to the efficiency and automation of its manufacturing processes. At FOSS Japan, we are currently working on establishing rapid component measurement of soy sauce and sake using FT-IR technology. By enabling simultaneous analysis of multiple components in just a few seconds, we can achieve significant cost reductions and shorten the time required for quality checks, which were previously managed through artisan verification and time-consuming analytical methods. We are confident that by utilizing current new technologies even in Japan's traditional food industry, we can further invigorate and develop the entire industry. Technical Data: Rapid Analysis of Soy Sauce by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (Research and Technology of Soy Sauce_Vol.50)
We would like to introduce that the article "Rapid Analysis of Soy Sauce by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy" has been published in the Journal of Soy Sauce Research and Technology (Vol. 50). ■ Summary: The FOSS MilkoScan FT 1 has been demonstrated to be a useful tool for the rapid analysis of soy sauce, allowing for quick and easy sample analysis not only in terms of analysis time but also through sample handling using a pipette. Currently, FOSS is selling the MilkoScan FT 3 as the successor to the MilkoScan FT 1. The calibration curve for soy sauce components from this study can be transferred and used with the MilkoScan FT 3. ■ Author Introduction: Martin Andersson has worked at FOSS for 25 years and has been based in Japan since 2003. After the initial development of grain moisture meters, we continued to develop analytical solutions for the dairy industry, which remains a major business area for FOSS. [Seminar Report] Introduction of the new generation analysis solution for elemental (mineral) analysis "Micral".
Foss Japan is pleased to announce the development and release of Micral, an elemental analysis device based on LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) technology, as a next-generation analytical solution, and we held an introductory seminar for it. Micral is a device that analyzes elements (minerals) in samples safely and quickly without the use of reagents. It can simultaneously analyze up to 12 mineral items per sample and can continuously measure samples from 60 specimens, making it a groundbreaking analytical solution. The demand for efficiency in mineral analysis is increasing across various industries. In the future, the Foss Group intends to expand its proposals for mineral analysis solutions to a wider range of industries.
