Case Study | Autonomous RFID Reader That Can Be Used Without Scanning

**Introduction Background** At Tamada, we primarily manufacture underground tanks such as oil tanks for gas stations, fuel tanks for buildings and facilities, and firewater tanks. About five years ago, while promoting on-site digital transformation (DX) including the cloudification of our manufacturing management system, we identified a challenge related to overtime work caused by the need to confirm the progress of manufacturing processes. Before the introduction of RFID, after factory operations ended, the responsible personnel would patrol the manufacturing site and visually check the progress of each manufacturing instruction one by one. Furthermore, the following tasks occurred daily: - Patrol the site for visual confirmation - Record by hand - Input into Excel - Share daily work reports via email This series of tasks took about one hour each day.
