The page for the "Visualization Solution for the Inside of Molds in Semiconductor Resin Sealing" has been created!
There is a trend in the automotive semiconductor industry, particularly in power semiconductors, to quantify the internal state of molds, which can be considered a black box, during the resin encapsulation process. This trend is driven by the emergence of issues related to moldability due to the miniaturization and thinning of semiconductor packages and the fine pitch. As a countermeasure, there is an increasing demand for improving productivity and quality through actual measurement of resin filling pressure and temperature within the mold cavity during package molding. In response to this need, Kistler proposes a "visualization solution for the inside of the mold" using high-performance quartz piezoelectric in-mold pressure sensors to measure resin filling pressure and temperature.

We have released an easy-to-understand video explaining the piezoelectric effect of quartz, which is used in most Kistler sensors!
The Curie brothers, Pierre and Jacques, discovered the piezoelectric effect in 1880 through experiments using tourmaline crystals, but its practical application did not come until 1950 when Walter P. Kistler, the founder of Kistler, invented the charge amplifier. We are currently releasing a video about the piezoelectric effect of this crystal and its applications. For more details, please click on the "link" or "related product information" below to visit the introduction page of the quartz piezoelectric force sensor within IPROS and watch the video! We plan to continue releasing videos that clearly explain the features of our products, so please look forward to it!

As part of our activities contributing to the environment and society, we conducted road cleaning. [Part 6]
As part of Kistler Japan's activities contributing to the environment and society, we conducted the sixth session of the "Hama Road Supporter" (road foster parent system) in Yokohama, where our headquarters is located. This time, on March 31, despite the serious situation caused by COVID-19 (novel coronavirus infection), our company made efforts to prevent the spread of infection by effectively implementing staggered working hours and remote work. With a strong desire to continue doing what we can for society, 16 employees gathered outside the office to enjoy the fresh air. Wearing masks and gloves for infection prevention and maintaining a safe distance, we picked up discarded cigarette butts and empty cans from the roads around the company. We even found a large number of CD cases and other trash suspected of illegal dumping, and while lamenting the deliberately hidden cigarette butts and empty cans in the bushes, everyone worked hard to pick them up. Of course, as soon as we returned to the office, we washed our hands and gargled. We plan to conduct another session in two months. We sincerely hope that by then, the impact of COVID-19 will have subsided. Please take care of yourselves as well.

As part of our activities contributing to the environment and society, we conducted road cleaning. [Part 5]
As part of Japan Kistler's activities contributing to the environment and society, we held the fifth session of the "Hama Road Supporter (Road Foster Parent Program)" in our headquarters located in Yokohama! This time, on January 31, with the cold at its peak and plenty of fallen leaves and trash, twelve participants gathered early to pick up discarded cigarette butts and empty cans from the roads around the company. One employee's comment, "It's winter, so it's corn soup, sweet red bean soup, and amazake," made us laugh, but the amount of litter is no laughing matter. The trash will be collected by the Kohoku Ward Civil Engineering Office, so we can participate with peace of mind.

As part of our activities contributing to the environment and society, we conducted road cleaning. [Part 4]
As part of Kistler Japan's activities contributing to the environment and society, we held the fourth session of the "Hama Road Supporters" (Road Foster Parent Program) in our headquarters located in Yokohama! This time, on the morning of November 29, when the wind had turned cold for winter, 14 of us, including the head of Asia who was on a business trip from Hong Kong, picked up discarded cigarette butts, convenience store bags (with trash inside), and broken umbrellas from the roads around the company. Some employees felt sad seeing trash thrown deep into the bushes where it was out of reach, but we want to continue believing that keeping the area clean will make it less likely for people to litter. The trash is collected by the Kohoku Ward Civil Engineering Office, so we can participate with peace of mind.

The data sheet for the new 6-component force/torque sensor (9306A, 9306A31) has been published.
The 6-component force/torque sensor (9306A, 9306A31) is mounted with a large preload between two mounting flanges. As a result, it can measure not only compressive forces but also tensile forces and reaction torque. The quartz element generates a charge proportional to the applied force and reaction torque. This charge is output to the charge amplifier from the electrodes and connectors. This sensor is very robust due to its large-area quartz element and sturdy case. Consequently, it achieves a high natural frequency, which is essential for dynamic force and torque measurements. We have published the datasheet for this 6-component force/torque sensor on IPROS, so please download it and take a look!

As part of Kistler Japan's activities contributing to the environment and society, we conducted the second round of the "Hama Road Supporter" (Road Foster Parent System) in our headquarters location, Yokohama! This time, on July 30th, at the beginning of a very hot day, 18 employees participated in collecting discarded umbrellas and dumped tires from the roads around the company. We also picked up many empty cans and cigarette packages that had been thrown into the bushes, sweating profusely as we did so. I felt that the gazes of passersby were somehow warm. The garbage will be collected by the Kohoku Ward Civil Engineering Office, so it’s a reassuring system.
