[MST Homepage] We have published a feature on environmental (air and odor) analysis.
"Unlike usual, there is a strange odor." "I want to know the components of the exhaust gases from the engine and pump." By identifying the source of the strange odor and determining its components, we can take measures smoothly. Moreover, as environmental issues gain attention, it is increasingly required to accurately understand what is actually emitted as exhaust gases from the equipment being used. This time, we will introduce our MST analysis service lineup using GC/MS to address the challenges of components in the atmosphere. **************************************** For more details, please visit the MST homepage and check out the special feature on environmental (atmospheric and odor) analysis!! ****************************************

[MST Homepage] Analysis Case Study 'Gas Emission Analysis and Polymer Material Identification Using Pyrolysis GC/MS' has been published.
The MST website has published analysis cases. ◆Title Gas Emission Analysis and Polymer Material Identification Using Pyrolysis GC/MS ~About the Principles and Applications of Pyrolysis GC/MS~ ◆Measurement Method / Processing Method GC/MS ◆Product Fields Lighting, Display, Cosmetics, Daily Necessities ◆Analysis Objectives Chemical Bond State Evaluation, Safety Testing, Thermal Property Evaluation ◆Overview Pyrolysis GC/MS is a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer equipped with a pyrolysis device in the sample introduction section. For polymer materials that previously required complex pretreatment, the sample can be heated using the pyrolysis device, allowing the gases generated to be introduced into the GC for analysis without pretreatment. Additionally, by varying the temperature conditions of the pyrolysis device and the sampling conditions (double-shot method), it is possible to obtain two different types of information separately, such as additives and polymer materials, from the same sample, making the analysis of unknown polymer materials easier. ★★For detailed data, please see the linked page★★

[MST Homepage] Analysis Case "Investigation of Curing Temperature and Glass Transition Temperature of Epoxy Resin" has been published.
We have published analysis cases on the MST homepage. ◆Title Investigation of Curing Temperature and Glass Transition Temperature of Epoxy Resin ~Thermal Property Evaluation by DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) Measurement~ ◆Measurement Method / Processing Method DSC ◆Product Field Electronic Components / Daily Necessities ◆Analysis Purpose Product Investigation / Thermal Property Evaluation ◆Overview Using DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), we investigated the curing temperature and the glass transition temperature (Tg), which is an indicator of heat resistance, for a two-component epoxy resin. The DSC measurement of the uncured resin confirmed that a rapid exothermic reaction began around 103°C (Figure 1). This was due to the polymerization (curing) of the resin caused by the temperature increase. Furthermore, after air cooling the cured resin to room temperature, a second DSC measurement showed a shift of the baseline towards the endothermic side due to the glass transition of the resin, with Tg being approximately 116°C (Figure 2). ★★For detailed data, please see the linked page★★

[MST Homepage] Analysis Case "Evaluation of Bone Condition Before and After HF Treatment" has been published.
We have published analysis cases on the MST homepage. ◆Title Evaluation of Bone Condition Before and After HF Treatment ~Evaluation of Condition Before and After Chemical Treatment Using Raman Analysis~ ◆Measurement Method / Processing Method Raman / Chemical Treatment ◆Product Field Pharmaceuticals / Biotechnology ◆Analysis Purpose Evaluation of Chemical Bonding State ◆Overview HF (hydrofluoric acid) is widely used in processes such as wet etching of SiO2 and plays a very important role in semiconductor manufacturing. However, it is also a very dangerous chemical that can penetrate the skin and damage bones, requiring careful handling. The erosion of bones caused by HF occurs due to the reaction between Ca, which exists in bones as apatite, and HF, resulting in the formation of CaF2. This case introduces an evaluation of the changes in this reaction using Raman analysis. ★★For detailed data, please see the link★★

We support disaster recovery through radiation measurement services.
We will support the recovery from the earthquake disaster through a free radiation measurement service in the Fukushima and North Kanto regions. ◆ To the individuals and companies in the six prefectures (Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki, and Chiba) that suffered particularly severe damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake. ◆ Duration and Cost We will provide this service free of charge until the end of June 2011. However, for on-site measurements, the actual costs for transportation and accommodation of the measurement personnel will be borne separately by you. ◆ Notes - There are movements to impose regulations on export cargo from Japan in the receiving countries. Additionally, this often arises based on requests from importers. We cannot determine whether the measurement results for exported goods meet the requirements of the receiving country or the importer, so we ask that you conduct sufficient prior verification yourself when making a request. - We may refrain from dispatching measurement personnel to areas with high levels of radiation contamination. Thank you for your understanding. ◆ Application Please consult us first. E-mail: info@mst.or.jp TEL: 03-3749-2525 ★ For detailed information about the radiation measurement service, please see the link "Introduction to Radiation Measurement Methods."

Added analysis case to the 【MST homepage】 ◆ Evaluation of the state of organic EL device materials.
We have added one analysis case to the MST homepage. ◆Title State Evaluation of Organic EL Device Materials ◆Measurement Method/Processing Method: TOF-SIMS; Processing under Controlled Atmosphere ◆Product Field: Display; Lighting ◆Analysis Purpose: Composition Evaluation; Identification ◆Overview: Organic EL devices have advantages such as high brightness, high-resolution color, and thinness due to their self-emission principle, making them one of the promising next-generation display devices. Accurate analysis and evaluation of materials are crucial for improving characteristics, extending lifespan, and enhancing reliability; however, care must be taken as very reactive materials are used. A comparison between samples exposed to the atmosphere and those handled under high-purity nitrogen atmosphere confirms that oxidation (parent ions +O, +OH, etc.) observed with atmospheric exposure is suppressed when handled in a high-purity nitrogen atmosphere. Please check the link for detailed data!
