Strengthening of Regulatory Measures - Part 2 - 'Key Points for Reviewing Standards' - The heating treatment standards for feed made from food waste have been strengthened since April 2021. [High-Quality Dryer for Food Residues - Okadra Cyclone Dryer]
There are three key points for the review of the standards. 1. Institutionalization The regulations will be established through ministerial ordinances instead of guidelines. - Strictening of heating targets and heating standards - Mandatory record creation and storage - Setting the scope of penalties 2. Application of international standards - Clarification of the range of food residues subject to heat treatment, etc. - Setting conditions for heat treatment (stirring while maintaining a temperature of 90°C or higher for more than 60 minutes, or equivalent treatment) - Measures to prevent recontamination 3. Exception measures for livestock feed other than pigs - Other livestock feeds produced without distinction between pig feed and pig feed production lines are subject to this revision. For more details on this information, please refer to the attached document "Q&A on the Review of Regulations Regarding the Use of Food Residues as Feed." "Zero Wastewater, Odorless Drying System" Dryer 'Okadora Cyclone Dryer'
A major challenge when drying waste is "odor" and "wastewater." - When waste is dried, the waste vapor spreads widely as odor. - Condensing the waste vapor requires wastewater treatment facilities. At Okadora, such challenges do not occur. The Okadora Teinenpi deodorization system completely oxidizes and decomposes the waste vapor generated during drying, regardless of the differences in odor concentration and BOD concentration, releasing it into the atmosphere in an odorless and non-polluting state, without producing a single drop of wastewater. This enables the "zero wastewater and odor-free drying" of high BOD concentration waste liquids such as organic sludge and waste blood, as well as food residues (including the entrails of squid and scallops). This also helps maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the factory for a long time. If you have waste that you thought, "This will produce an incredible odor when dried, so we gave up on in-house processing," please feel free to consult with us.

"Strengthening of Regulatory Measures - Part 25 - What does it mean to 'confirm that it is completely separated and managed' in food manufacturing?" The heating treatment standards for feed using food waste have been strengthened since April 2021. [High-quality dryer for food residues: Okadora Cyclone Dryer]
"What does it mean to 'confirm that complete separation management is being implemented' in food manufacturing?" When there are areas within the factory premises that handle meat and areas that do not, it is necessary to manage each accordingly. Broadly speaking, it is essential to achieve and manage three types of non-contact in four different situations. <Four Situations> (1) Separation management between floors that handle meat and those that do not (2) Separation management between buildings that handle meat and those that do not (3) Separation management between floors that handle meat and those that do not (4) Separation management between lines that handle meat and those that do not <Three Types of Non-Contact Management> 1. Contact due to personnel movement 2. Contact during the storage management of food residues generated from each area 3. Contact during the collection of food residues generated from each area Okadora Cyclone Dryer can propose dryers that comply with this regulatory amendment. For more details, please refer to the attached document "Q&A on the Review of Regulations Regarding the Use of Food Residues as Feed." Strengthening of Regulatory Measures - Part 24 - "If there is an employee cafeteria in a flour mill, do the emissions from the entire factory qualify as animal-derived food recycling resources?" The heating treatment standards for feed using food waste have been strengthened since April 2021. 【High-quality dryer for food residues: Okadira Cyclone Dryer】
"If there is a staff cafeteria in a flour mill, does the entire factory's emissions qualify as animal-derived food recycling resources?" Even if the food manufacturing factory only handles plant-based products, if there is a staff cafeteria (a building or floor that handles meat) within the same business premises, and if the residues emitted from the food manufacturing process and the food residues containing meat emitted from the staff cafeteria are not distinguished and are emitted together, it is judged that the food recycling resources emitted from that business premises also qualify as "animal-derived food recycling resources," and thus are subject to heating treatment of 90°C or higher for more than 60 minutes. It is necessary to distinguish and separately store and manage the residues emitted from the food manufacturing process and the food residues containing meat emitted from the staff cafeteria. Okadora Cyclone Dryer can propose dryers that comply with this regulatory amendment. Vertical dryer "Okadora Cyclone Dryer" that allows easy cleaning and maintenance because it does not generate dust.
The Okadora Cyclone Dryer does not require carrier gas (carrier air) for drying waste. Therefore, most of the exhaust steam from the dried material condenses into water when cooled, and does not release waste gas. As a result, large dust collectors are unnecessary, and the condensed water comes out as clear water. This makes it easier to clean and maintain the installation site of the equipment. We look forward to your inquiries. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For drying various types of waste such as sludge, waste alkali, waste acid, plant and animal residues, waste liquids, and food residues, choose the Okadora Cyclone Dryer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~Drying Examples~~ Kitchen waste, leftover bento, white rice, red rice, soba, udon, ramen, bread, sweet bread, side dish bread, eco-feed materials, fish residues, waste dead fish, squid guts, scallop waste, marine debris, heavy metal waste liquids, slurry, leachate, sewage, aquaculture, food, soy sauce, beer, mop cleaning, meat processing, slaughterhouses, paper mill sludge, sludge, bentonite, concentrated sludge, shochu waste liquid, digestion waste liquid, livestock manure, animal waste, waste blood, waste eggs, pathogens, various organic residues, etc.

Strengthening of Regulatory Measures - Part 23 - "Is it acceptable to exclude items that are heat-treated for human consumption during the manufacturing (cooking) process from the heat treatment standards?" The heat treatment standards for feed utilizing food waste have been strengthened since April 2021. [High-quality food waste dryer: Okadora Cyclone Dryer]
"Is it acceptable not to include items that have been heat-treated for human consumption during the manufacturing (cooking) process in the heat treatment standards?" Among food circulation resources, even if heat treatment is performed for human consumption during the manufacturing (cooking) process, it does not fall under "processed food-derived animal-derived food circulation resources." Heat treatment (at least 90°C for 60 minutes) is required. Okadora Cyclone Dryer can propose dryers that comply with this regulatory amendment. For more details, please refer to the attached document "Q&A on the Review of Regulations Regarding the Use of Food Residues as Feed." Strengthening of Regulatory Measures - Part 21 - 'Is recycled cooking oil included in the heating treatment standards?' The heating treatment standards for feed made from food waste have been strengthened since April 2021. [High-quality dryer for food residues: Okadora Cyclone Dryer]
Recycled cooking oil (such as oil used for frying meat products, which is collected for reuse) falls under "animal-derived food circulation resources." → Heating treatment at 90°C for more than 60 minutes is required. However, among these, only the recycled cooking oil that is discharged from food manufacturers and food service providers, and has been handled in such a way that it does not come into contact with meat after cooling, can be judged to fall under "processed food-derived animal-derived food circulation resources" (which are exempt from the requirements of heating treatment at 90°C for more than 60 minutes). Recycled cooking oil discharged from households or untraceable recycled cooking oil cannot be judged to fall under "processed food-derived animal-derived food circulation resources," and therefore is subject to heating treatment at 90°C for more than 60 minutes. Okadora Cyclone Dryer can provide dryers that comply with this regulatory amendment. "Over 400 installations nationwide" Unique technology of boil drying - Not just a drying machine, but a vertical dryer: Okadora Cyclone Dryer.
"Drying squid to make dried squid" is also one method of drying. This method evaporates moisture from the object, but it does not remove the moisture inside the cell membranes. Okadara's dryer uniquely employs "boil drying," which breaks down cell membranes and dries the moisture inside as well. Therefore, it is possible to recycle food waste into high-quality feed materials. <Examples of Drying> - Scallop entrails - Squid entrails - Pig blood (from slaughterhouses) - Food waste (hotel kitchen waste, food manufacturing plant waste) - Organic sludge (dewatered sludge, concentrated sludge) - Digestate (liquid fertilizer, biogas power generation) For more details, please check the respective materials and videos.

"Dryer that also contributes to the implementation of SDGs" - Capable of drying high-concentration waste liquid (blood: 224,000 mg/kg) into a saleable valuable material! ~Okadora Cyclone Dryer~
The "Okadora Cyclone Dryer" is capable of drying high-concentration wastewater with high BOD levels. <1. Blood (Pig) to Organic Fertilizer Raw Material> In slaughterhouses, 8 tons of pig blood are discharged daily. By utilizing the "Okadora Cyclone Dryer" to recycle pig blood into organic fertilizer raw materials instead of flowing it into wastewater treatment, the burden on wastewater treatment facilities can be significantly reduced. It can dry moisture content from 98% to below 10%. <2. Wastewater Consulted by Domestic Chemical Manufacturers> With the Okadora Cyclone Dryer, it can be directly fed into the dryer without any pretreatment (screening, centrifuge, concentrator). Moisture content can be reduced from 96.5% to below 5% (please check the photos). The chemical manufacturer in this case will sell what was previously treated as industrial waste as valuable material. All customers are also aiming to engage in initiatives for SDGs that align with the times ahead. The "Okadora Cyclone Dryer" can dry such liquids as well. Please feel free to contact us for experimental consultations or inquiries. We are also actively conducting online meetings.

The heating treatment standards for feed made from food waste will be strengthened from April 2021. [High-quality food waste dryer: Okadora Cyclone Dryer]
"Are meat products other than raw meat (such as ham and sausages) included in the heating treatment standards?" Not limited to raw meat or wild game meat, even processed meat products such as cooked ham and sausages are subject to heating treatment standards as "animal-derived food recycling resources," which generally require heating treatment of 90°C or higher for more than 60 minutes. However, in specific cases where it can be guaranteed that the prescribed heating treatment (i.e., a center temperature of 70°C or higher for more than 30 minutes) has been conducted during the food manufacturing stage, they will be exempt from the heating treatment standards. Strengthening of Regulatory Measures - Part 17 - "What are Food Circulation Resources?" The heating treatment standards for feed made from food waste will be strengthened from April 2021. 【High-Quality Dryer for Food Residues - Okadora Cyclone Dryer】
"What are food recycling resources?" It mainly refers to food recycling resources discharged from businesses that do not handle meat. It includes plant-based food recycling resources such as "shochu lees," "tofu lees," "fruit juice pulp," and "noodles." There are also food recycling resources derived from "dairy products," "egg products," and "fish-derived meat." Businesses that handle "meat" as defined by this regulation in food manufacturing factories need to confirm whether they come into contact with meat and establish management methods. A completely non-polluting system that produces no wastewater or odor: "No Wastewater, No Odor Drying System."
A major challenge when drying waste is "odor" and "wastewater." - When waste is dried, the waste vapor spreads widely as odor. - Even if the waste vapor is condensed into wastewater, there is no wastewater treatment facility available (or the load is too high, making treatment difficult). At Okadora, such challenges do not occur. The Okadora Teinenpi deodorization system completely oxidizes and decomposes the waste vapor generated during drying, regardless of the differences in odor concentration and BOD concentration, releasing it into the atmosphere in an odorless, non-polluting state, without producing a single drop of wastewater. This enables the realization of "no wastewater, no odor drying" for high BOD concentration waste liquids such as organic sludge and waste blood, as well as food residues (including the entrails of squid and scallops). This also helps maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the factory for a long period. We can propose systems for customers with large processing volumes, such as industrial waste disposal businesses (tens to over 100 tons per day), as well as for customers who want to process a few tons in-house per day. If you have waste that you thought, "This will produce an incredible odor when dried, so we gave up on in-house processing," please feel free to consult with us.

Strengthening of Regulatory Measures - Part 16 - 'What is included in the "etc." of businesses handling meat?' The heating treatment standards for feed made from food waste have been strengthened since April 2021. [High-quality food waste dryer: Okadora Cyclone Dryer]
"What is included in the 'etc.' of businesses that handle meat?" If there is a possibility of contact with food waste that corresponds to "meat" within the factory premises, food waste of animal and plant origin discharged from manufacturing plants that handle only animal and plant products will also be considered as "businesses that handle meat." It is necessary to distinguish and separate the food waste from the floors that handle meat and those that do not, and then transport it externally. Animal and plant waste discharged from floors that do not handle meat, which can be managed to avoid contact with meat, will not be subject to this regulation. Businesses that handle "meat" as defined by this regulation in food manufacturing plants need to verify whether there is contact with meat and establish management methods.
