■Is the replacement timing not determined by the "amount of water"? There is a limit to the total amount of ions that a single cartridge's resin can hold. Therefore, the amount of pure water that can be obtained is influenced by the amount of ions present in the source water. For a 10L resin cartridge, the estimated amount of water that can be collected when the source water's electrical conductivity is 200μS/cm is about 1,900L. If the source water has double the ions, the amount collected will be roughly halved. ■Look at the electrical conductivity for replacement signals! Attach a conductivity meter to the outlet of the treated water, and replace it when the set value is exceeded. There are also systems where the lamp color changes when it exceeds 1μS/cm, indicating that it's time for a replacement. ■Does excessive flow reduce purity? The appropriate flow rate range is determined according to the amount of resin. If the flow rate is too fast, there may not be enough time for the resin and water to interact, resulting in water being dispensed without sufficient ion exchange. ■Do not store the collected pure water Pure water is prone to quality degradation as it absorbs carbon dioxide and other substances when exposed to air. It is important to collect only the necessary amount each time and use it up quickly.

■When connecting to well water? Well water may contain iron and manganese derived from geological layers. For raw water suitable for pure water systems, guidelines suggest keeping iron below 0.3 mg/L and manganese below 0.05 mg/L. The levels of iron and manganese are the same as the water quality standards for tap water. Some products also maintain residual chlorine below 1 mg/L. If the values exceed these guidelines, consider pre-treatment such as iron and manganese removal. ■Is pre-treatment necessary even for tap water?! Even with tap water, deterioration of pipes can lead to rust contamination or high levels of residual chlorine, which may shorten the lifespan of the resin. Therefore, placing a cartridge filter before the pure water system is effective. ■There are two ways to replace the resin Resin replacement can be done by self-refilling or by sending the entire container back to the supplier to have new resin filled and returned. ■What if the usage is high?
