[Seminar Report] Introduction of the Automatic Protein and Nitrogen Analyzer, Automatic Distillation Device "Keltec 9"
At FOSS Japan, we have planned a webinar to introduce the Kjeltec 9, the successor to the Kjeltec 8000 series, which was recently released, and to showcase the equipment. The Kjeldahl method is certified as a standard method in Japan for the analysis of protein and nitrogen content in agricultural products, general foods, pharmaceuticals, soil, fertilizers, and water quality. While manual analysis using laboratory instruments continues, there has been an increasing trend towards the use of automatic distillation and titration devices to enhance speed and minimize contact with hazardous reagents. The Kjeltec 9 was released last year as the successor to the Kjeltec 8000 series. In addition to the safety features carried over from the 8000 series, various improvements have been made to provide a more user-friendly interface for our customers. If you would like to receive presentation materials or videos, please contact FOSS Japan.

[Seminar Report] Rapid Near-Infrared Component Analysis Device FoodScan2 - Possible Nutritional Component Analysis and Its Features -
We held a seminar to introduce the FoodScan 2, one of FOSS's nutritional analysis devices, featuring live demonstrations that covered specific applications, simple measurement techniques, and actual sample measurements. Since April 2022, it has become mandatory to display nutritional information on the packaging of processed foods and additives for consumers. While it is allowed to display calculated values (estimated values) based on the mixing ratios of raw materials and reference nutritional tables, recalculating based on slightly varying formulations during the product development stage is very labor-intensive and burdensome for workers. Recent technological innovations in near-infrared (NIR) analysis have addressed these issues, providing a measurement device that allows anyone to quickly measure the quantities of each component. Thank you very much for your participation! If you would like the seminar materials, please contact FOSS Japan. >> Phone: 03-5962-4811 Email: info@foss.co.jp

We are pleased to announce that Foss Japan has organized a webinar to introduce the semi-automatic filtration system "Fibertec 1023" for measuring dietary fiber, which complies with official methods such as the Prosky method. The webinar will also cover the mechanisms and precautions for quantitative analysis using similar devices. Dietary fiber analysis often gives the impression of being "complex and time-consuming," but by utilizing the Fibertec system, which simplifies and speeds up the filtration process, we can enable more efficient analysis operations. This webinar is aimed at a wide range of customers, including those who are already using the Fibertec series and those facing challenges in dietary fiber analysis. Thank you very much for your participation!! If you would like the seminar materials, please contact Foss Japan. >> Phone: 03-5962-4811 Email: info@foss.co.jp

[Seminar Report] Lipid and Solvent Extraction - Weight Method Corresponding Solvent Extraction Device "Soxtec" Briefing Session
FOSS Japan recently held a web seminar on the solvent extraction device "Soxtec," which corresponds to the lipid and solvent extraction - weight method. Regarding the lipid content in food labeling standards notified on March 30, 2022, some amendments have been made to the analytical methods. As a result, a provision has been added allowing the use of automated analytical devices, enabling extraction that previously took a long time to be completed in about one hour (depending on conditions). Since FOSS Japan has been selling the automated solvent extraction device Soxtec 8000, which automates the solvent extraction process, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce the potential of FOSS's solvent extraction devices, and thus we conducted this seminar. Thank you for your participation. During the seminar, we received many questions, and we felt the strong interest from everyone. In the future, FOSS Japan will continue to provide technical information and industry-related topics that will be useful to customers requiring analysis of food and feed. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us regarding the seminar materials or the devices.
