[Analysis Case] Evaluation of Dental Implants Using Dynamic-SIMS
Quantitative evaluation of impurity elements is possible.
Dental implants are artificial devices that are embedded in the jawbone when teeth are lost due to cavities or periodontal disease. Since implants are directly embedded in the body, evaluating their safety is crucial. This document presents a case where the quantification of impurity elements was conducted using Dynamic-SIMS. The analysis results revealed that, in addition to the main component Ti, O and Fe were also present. Dynamic-SIMS can evaluate the elemental distribution in a depth of several micrometers at the order of ppm to ppb.
